What happens when a global technology company with a multi-billion dollar revenue plans a start-up project? For alumnus Bill Higgins ’96, who works in service management at IBM Software Group, it was another chance to participate in a collaborative and innovative project.
The technology industry is a constant source of innovative solutions for everyday users. Most of the time, is it large companies that drive these new technologies; however, IBM approached Higgins to spearhead a new start-up project, which would influence the company across the board. Higgins and his team set out to incorporate cloud management systems into IBM’s traditional “on premises” products, which allow consumers to buy a product and download it onto their own equipment.
