Harrisburg Academy’s 2nd grade students built a 3-D model of a suburban community to demonstrate what they are learning in social studies class about urban, rural, and suburban communities. Their model had neighborhoods, restaurants, hospitals, a school, a variety of stores and doctor’s offices. They worked together to set up the community and to add roads and sidewalks. They also wrote about their own community.

The completed project was put on display for Grandparents and Special Friends Day on Friday, Oct. 20, and the 2nd graders had a blast sharing their community and their writing with our guests!
